Gorton Rep Says #2 vents 16.32 CFM's a minute at 1 PSI

I emailed Gorton that I have a main with a capacity of about 3 CF and needed valve size recommendations. Kenny replied that a Gorton #2 vents 16.32 CFM's a minute at 1 pound of pressure.

Steamhead graciously advised I would need three #2's. Based on what I've seen the short time on here I would guess Steamhead would have more field experience.

Any other opinions? Steamhead, sir?

they are both right..

gorton did their testing eons ago at 1 psi..but steamhead knows you start at atmospheric pressure to vent..like less than one ounce..thats why our chart starts at one ounce..by the time you have a few ounces behind the steam, i would hope that the steam would already be at the air vents and closing them..see the difference there..so both guys are providing correct data..one is technical data which may not help much, and steamheads is useable data..
