i'm almost scared, we just put in a HTP rebated 199 at our office. Saved the office some on the cost but it was bought at list still the cheapest option at the time. its been in service 1 month no problems. Guess it might not be bad that we left a couple tappings in the primary loop for a backup boiler.

New Record
One hour and 15 minutes to change out a Munchkin blower. I had everything going for me: the boiler was in the garage and I could back my truck right up to it; great access.
The learning curve had a lot to do with it. I remembered to carefully remove the orifice at the gas intake after I removed the gas valve; otherwise it falls out and you can't find it. I remembered that the screws that hold the manifold to the "J" tube are different sizes and to put them back properly. And I remembered to remove the cork gasket off the fan before re-assembly because.................it just doesn't belong there.
Please don't make replacement easier, HTP; I'm just getting the hang of this.

Sounds like fun
I forgot to say it was a personal record, but hey, I'll put it out there.
The owner was watching over my shoulder the whole time.

With the owner watching????
Alan,
That alone is the equivalent of running a marathon with a 60 lb. pack and an M60 with full ammo.
Talk about cool under fire. Hats off!0 -
Good time. My personal best is 57 min, only reason I know is it was in my own home, with a COLD wife looking over my shoulder. I find it easiest to take the whole combustion assembly out of the case, and replace the blower on a bench.

Here's a guy that beat me by a mile; and with more pressure on him.
I also got an email from Chuck Shaw at Munchkin offering his assistance. Thanks, Chuck. I'll give you a call once I'm finished with these blowers.

Don't be scared. Installed, setup, and maintained properly, that 199 should give you many years of service, and great fuel savings to boot! The blower in my unit was my stupidity. You say rebated, whats the deal?

next time you buy a boiler for your office ask the amnufacturers reps if there are rebates for showroom/office use, ours is installed as an operating display model, so we got a coupon to be used for its purchase, but we had to pay list price, it was only essentialy a couple hundred dollars off the trade price, but we did it was the least expensive modulating option available due to the rebate. The manuf. rep. was iffy on if we would get the rebate but we were pleasantly suprised. The bad news is you have to apply in advance, and they send you a "special" one from the factory, directly. My only gripe during the installation was that the supply and return connections were not level/square to the body. When I get done cleaning up I'll post some pictures of my handy work.0
