Munchkin, Baxi. or Prestige????????????????

I installed 3 Prestiges this fall and they are running great...Lets see in 5 or 10 years. They really look like a good boiler.....low maintenance needs, standard gas train, straight forward installation, and some water volume to help keep you out of trouble in trouble prone system layouts....low mass zoned systems for instance.

So far they seem to be the best boiler for the regular joe thats looking for efficient equipment that doesn't cost too much to put in and too much to maintain, so they can truly pocket the fuel savings. I have them as my better boiler, in the good, better, best scenario, with the Dunkrik XEB as the good and a Viessman as the best (haven't done one of these yet, though)

I hope the company's next move is to make a lower input model, you can heat a really big home with only half the output of the 110 model. It'd great that the biger brothers are now coming out.

Getting ready to start installing equipment on a house a design and build house. I am torn between which boiler to install. I have used munckin on quite a few jobs and have had many flame rod problems (yes set I set them up with a comb. analyzer). These systems are on LP. I have also used several Baxi Luna 310's with really no problems. I have not used baxi's new HT i believe it is that is a condensing boiler. I have two wholesellers that are taking on the prestige boilers by triangle tube. I like the venting options on them and they seem like a great boiler. The house that these are going in, the owners are gone a lot so a dependable boiler is what i am looking for yet great performance. I know the first post will cry for a vitodens but parts are not available readly. I know the pros and cons of the munchkin, but what about the Baxi HT or the presige?/?? Thanks

What about an atmospheric boiler? If your looking for trouble free, that might be a good option.

    Try an ABM Boiler

That is ANYTHING BUT MUNCHKIN. Haven't you been paying attention? Unless you have LOTS of free time to deal with the F09 codes that have become Munchkin's MO. Follow mad dogs advice and drive 2 days if you have to-to get a GB142, no callbacks and the quietest boiler on the market. Munchkins are for the "misled" They are dying a slow painful death. Hey HTP, thanks for the (bad) memories! Send an extra blower in every box, you know, just in case.

    Not many out there........

I spoke with the local rep and I could have sworn he said they only produced 500-700 units this year I think? But I am sure it was not a bunch. He also said that the developer behind the knight also developed the Ultra.

It may be a nice boiler....but not too many out there yet.

    HEY OL' CANASTA

APPARENTLY THE INSTALL MANUAL ISN'T CLEAR ENOUGH FOR YA. WE DON'T HAVE ANY TROUBLE WITH OUR MUNCHKIN INSTALLS. WHY CAN'T WE ALL JUST ACT LIKE MATURE ADULTS AND PROMOTE THE PRODUCTS WE LIKE INSTEAD OF BASH THE PRODUCTS WE DON'T.

    have you done the math?

A good biferral oil fired boiler will run efficiency circles arounf an LPG fuelled one.Equip it wit a good Riello burner and you will never look back.
Anual service is required with both fuels.

    What's a Install Manual?

Where can I get one? That would sure make jobs a whole lot easier. I was always the one on Christmas that put all the toys together without instructions and had stuff left over. Dude, check yourself. Just knowing I got shorts twisted gives me absolute power. Oh, Install a Prestige or Baxi, they are both fine pieces of equipment. the stainless heat exchanger on the Prestige is sweet (like me)
