Old Radiators

I have a copper fin baseboard heat sytem in my home. I would like to know if I a can put an old cast iron radiator in one of the loops and have it work good? The plumbers I have spoken to say it won't put out full heat. I can't see why it won't if I run the water in the bottom on one end and out the other on the top with a shut off valve so I can force all the air out ot the radiator.
Please give me all the help you can.
Thank You

Ray, you may get into a problem with the CI rad holding heat longer than your fin tube. Copper fin will heat up and cool down faster making your rooms have more of a temp swing between cycles. CI rads stay warm and give off heat well after the cycle ends. I would not add a Radiator to the system if it is in the room with the t-stat. It will most likely stay warmer than the rooms with the fin tube.0 -
Zones
The Cast iron radiators will work nicely if they are on their own zone. You'll have to calculate how much radiation you can have on the zone so there is enough heat in the water to heat all the radiators.
Properly designed, as a separate zone, the system will be fine.
