Lowering pressure on boiler

Hi,

Just purchased a home with steam heat. Purchased Dan's book and did lots of reading on steam heat. I puchased and replaced a few radiator air valves and checked the main air valves for proper air flow. All seems ok but when the system is raising the temp in the house significantly it seems like there is exessive noise (hissing) at the radiators. Can I try lowering the pressure myself? I am fairly mechanical and I have figured out how to to it, I am just unsure if turning the screw on the control is all there is to it.
The pressure now is hovering just over 2 p.s.i.
Any help greatly appreciated!!

Brian

you got it, drop pressure setting to 1/2 psi and see if it helps.
