I was really hoping the guys in design would listen to the voices in their heads that say "we can do better" Weil McLain has an opportunity to have one kick @ss boiler with the Ultra and they drop the ball by putting the electrical connections behind the intake and exhaust...and they knew it!! Are we going to have to deal with this design for the duration of the product life?

electrical connections
Where should we tell them to put it?
One side or the other, and then we loose side clearances. Out the back, same problem.0 -
yeah
Yes i also found that to be a real hassle you need monkey fingers and paintences of a saint .I beleive they could have someplace easier to put the connection ii think it is plan stupid where they are .I have installed 2 with a contractor plumber buddy i personally was not to impressed with it but that's me.As for operation and the HO it was fine HO called 2 months later because he couldn't believe his gas bill he was only using the unit for domestice hot production for 5 adluts and 3 teen agers and younger childe4rn and his 1 month bill while everybody was home was only about 20 bucks he was truely happy and amazed compared to his usually 50 to 75 for hot water on another note we used a phase 3 80 gallon indirect tank on the job .BUt i do believethey could have found a better place for the electrical connection also peaceand good luck clammyR.A. I move 'em
to the front of the boiler. Those terminal strips JUST fit inside the front cover without altering the wires in any way. I do this in the shop before I take the boiler to the jobsite.
The cover gasket was my other pet peeve. Looks like they have up graded that.
Those funky compression adapters at the block are another "odd" connection. I've had them break and leak weeks after the boiler was installed and running. I like to remove them also but Weil doesn't necessarily encourage that modification
