Yes, I have used the Honeywell and the old Danfoss wireless thermostats.

I like the Danfoss better because you don't have to wire in a seperate relay. Danfoss just gave you "T-T" terminals, like a regular thermostat. I have been told that Danfoss does not make them any longer.

Honeywell makes you wire in an 8222 relay to get the job done. Not terribly difficult, but you have to try to make it look good. The relay is an open device (like a 24v transformer), and you have to find a place to mount it out of the way.

Thw "wireless" aspect of the Honeywell thermostats is GREAT! Nice looking thermostat too.

Do not hesitate to use them, they work well.

    The new Commercial Vision Pro...

programmable stat has that capability. It's available from any Honeywell Commercial Products distributor.

    A clairification...

The sensors for the residential and commercial VisionPros are hard wired. We do offer the T8665/W8665 RF wireless thermostat, which has programmable range stops, inaccessible to the tennant. The stat has a 200 foot range from the W8665 receiver. Available in single or multi-stage models.

    remote thermostats honeywell vision pro

I have installed several of the honeywell vision pro (TH8000 series) in large apartment buildings 12-36 apts 1 pipe steam, using the hard wired (2wire) sensor in the furthest away apartment with the programmable thermostat located in the locked boiler room , the landlords loved it and claimed a 20% reduction in gas costs over the previous control scheme (time clock and condensate return temp)

    PROs
when you program it for hot water or steam all the unneeded functions normally found on programmable thermostats (fan-auto heat-off-cool) disappear, plus has lots of programming/setup options cost around $135

CONS (HOPE YOU HONEYWELL REPS READ THIS)
Although the unit can utilize an inside or outside remote temp sensor it can only use one at a time and not both, it would be nice to be able to use the outside sensor to keep the boiler from firing above say 60 degree outside temp, outside temp sensor provides temp reading at thermostat and provides some function if the thermostat is used for a heat pump. When used on a steam or hotwater application it becomes a single stage thermostat and is only multistage when used on forced air, also it is dificult to set staging temps when used on forced air systems.A little more work on this by the Honeywell software degigners would make this a truly great product.

Thermostats are good for calling for heat. They cannot analyse there own cycles. By analysing cycles at the control you can then send measured heat. Outdoor tem has little or anything to do with indoor comfort. Outdoor sensors are for landlords.
