    Vitodens service

Trust me when I say this, if there is an average service tech, he has light years more wrench turning ability than me.

My strengths are coaching little league and selling boilers. However, tonight I disassembled my 8-32, cleaned off the burner, rinsed off the very clean hex (first time since start up 11-12-03) checked the rods and gas valve, and had it all closed up in less than 20 minutes.

If I have said it once, I have said it 50 times, I am biased, my checks do say Viessmann. That being the case, take this with a grain of salt: the Vitodens is one amazing boiler.

Nothing is even in the same league as a Vito when it comes to service and maintenance. They are truly a dream to work on, as opposed to a nightmare on some of the other condensers.

Oh,..... and Henry, it's OK to be biased. You have every right!

We just sold our first Vertomat. Just a little guy, VSB-22, but a VERTOMAT none the less. Jason Hunt about went into orbit! He didn't even know I was working on that sale until I called him for a quote. He told me that he thinks we are the first contractor to sell at least one of every model Viessmann makes here in Michigan.

I'm really looking forward to this install. It's a perfect setup for a Verto. Plenty of radiation to keep the water temp down and they're all constant circ controlled with TRV's.

You and Jason and I have to get out salmon fishing sometime this summer. Call him up and tell him you have an appointment with some Kings offshore of North Manitou island about the last week in July.

    Life is GOOD!!

    I just left

I was in Petosky and TC. Already told my wife we are doing the Cherry festival next year,

Thanks for the sale and the years of effort. I think we could figure out all kinds of stuff to talk about on the water.

    No doubt!!

Since we are all WETHEADS anyway, being out on the water should naturally produce discussion of all things hydronic!

I hope you stopped by Jason and gave him the business about something.......anything. Good for him to have his cage rattled a little from time to time ~:)

    Jason and I did some

Vitodens service classes with Fred from E&J Distributors and many of his customers. I asked about you and if you might be able to come up so that we could be introduced all formally, but Jason said you were down south a bit and pretty busy....obviously.

When I can get up there again, and as nice as TC was, I hope it is soon, I will give you notice and we can hook up.

    Sounds like a plan

Looking forward to it Henry. Keep your eye peeled here for pictures of fish. Jason and I have been planning a few trips. There has to be some corelation between fishing for salmon and Viessmann boilers.............they're both silver (G)

    Henry, *~/;)... Let me ask

i am having a question as i have never done this, is there a "Gun" type gas burner that can used as a means of converting a Viessmann Oil fired boiler to a Gas fired boiler? forgive my not knowing your products in this respect.. then my next question is about the control compatability...and then one more as regards the vitocell 300, does the water heater work equally as well with a conversion gun burner?

How much trouble can I stand?

In the great tradition of free market capitalism, you could mount a 6.6 litre V-8 from a 1976 Trans Am to the front of that boiler and drive it to my house. Is that the best use of the boiler, no, but you could probably do it.

Viessmann oil boilers are great boilers, easy to service and arguably, the best residential oil boilers that one can buy. What happens if you mount a gun gas burner ala Beckett, Riello, Powerflame, Weishaupt? I dunno, I never tried it and I do not know anyone that has.

I personally think that a correctly sized gas burner would suffer from the flue gas collapsing since our oil boilers are three pass. If you size the burner to overcome this, you risk impingement in the combustion chamber and your combustion will be foul.

The control package could be made to work and one could fire the Trans....er .... boiler off, but I think you would be better served to use a gas boiler like the Biferral.

If someone called me and said I am buying a new oil boiler and a new gas burner to put together, I would strongly recommend against it.

    I hope this helps.

thank you. *~/:)...i would rather sell him the complete oil ..

Burner, boiler, control and indirect and then take that out and put it in my house and sell him a 111% when the bad boy makes it to America :) however i was forced to ask under duress :)
