Steam Radiator Venting

Whenever the boiler fires, air rushes out of the vent but only for barely a second before I can hear the float needle closingly firmly against the seat.
Pressuretrol's cut-in is set 1/2 psig. I'm not sure about the drop-away pressure on the vent since I don't have access to the specifications.
The radiator is a small Burnham Baseray Radiant Radiator. The radiator is sized for the small bathroom but it doesn't necessarily heat up the room as expected.
