Hello, I a have customer looking to replace Combu B32 heat exchanger on there steam boiler. The boiler is in very good condition. They want a indirect 45 gal. tank. Is this worth the cost for a steam boiler? I have in the past connected an internal heat exchanger to an electric tank which has work well for hot water.

indirect
An indirect HWH is efficient on almost any boiler. Just be sure that you have adequate sized tappings available below the water line of the boiler to supply the tank. Also, watch the controls, as you will want to cut out the burner at 180 degrees when there is only a call for HW, or else you heat the radiators even in the summer. The indirect MFG can supply you with a simple wiring diagram.0
