There is a handy program for sizing pipes in the HDS software. Here is an example using pex with 140° water. try a demo of this program at www.hydronicpros.com. It does a lot of wonderful figuring for you.

Dan, Maximum, Trouble-Free, Design Flow Rates For Pex?
Would anyone have the gpm for the different size Pex or are these correct?
3/8 Pex= 5/16" .3125" 1.6 gpm
1/2 Pex= 7/16" .4375" 2.3 gpm
5/8 Pex= 9/16" .5625" 3 gpm
3/4 Pex= 11/16" .6875" 3.67gpm
If my math is right please let me know and I will add this page to the Golden Rule Handbook as page 66a.0 -
