i do service for a large condo complex and it is heated by two pipe steam with solenoids on the radiators.
The tenant is complaining about the radiator banging in their bed room. I think that the solenoid is stuck and not letting the condensate thrue. shoud i replace the solenoild or put some other type of valve on it.

Your post indicated you are using pneumatic "solenoids" to control the heat, is that correct. the banging is probably the fault of the trap. Did you open and inspect the trap. It's function is to vent the rad during warm-up, shut off whwn steam appears, and to break the vacuum and let the condensate out when it cools. Chances are that's where your problem is
