Honeywell Thermostat not working - need service

our school's gym has a Honeywell Thermostat S7760A2007, Version 1.2.1 that is not working properly. The only person we had locally to service the system has closed his business.

We presently have no heat for our young kids. I am looking for someone who can help.

    honeywell thermostat

    Hi,

    oops...located in western mass, longmeadow.

I tried the find a pro link, but it looks like most were about installing, maintaining and fixing hardware so to speak (i.e. boilers, furnaces, etc).

    thanks again

    Your System...

    Bonnie,

The S7760A200 is only "part of" a larger system, that
part# is for a networked operator interface.

Without the original installation drawings, configuration
files and software it would be most difficult for someone
    to provide a "quick fix".

Without getting into a long and technical explanation let
me just say "this is not your typical thermostat, it is a
"fully automatic control system", with more components than
what is mounted on the wall.

I would attempt to locate the original installing contractor, they would be the one's best likely to
have all that's required to get the system back online.

I would look at the "accounts payable" records for payments
made from prior years. e.g.: ABC Mechanical, for example.

I would also try to get in touch with a local Honeywell
office and see if they may be able to help find someone
    in your area.

You may also try the b2b yellow pages, look under "HVAC" or
"mechanical contractors" for "Honeywell Partners" or
    "Lonworks Partners".

I'll see if I can dig up more info.

    Regards, db

I apologize to the OP if the following is not applicable to her, but unfortunately, whenever there is no heat many people will report that "the thermostat is not working". That is because the thermostat is the only thing they see. The rest is hidden down there somewhere.

How do you know that there isn't a problem with the boiler/furnace or a tripped fuse or something else?

thanks - but we've had teh folks in to test the furnace, and they say the same thing each time. It's fine...but the temp registered is way different than the actual. And apparently the temperature that registers from outside (I can't remember why this is important but it too throws off the system's ability to produce adequate heat) has been showing 80+ degrees F when it's only 50+ degrees. so whether it's teh location of teh thermostat or something else, it's out of whack.

the company that services the furnace told me too, that the person before me (1.5 years ago) had been told that the honeywell system needed an upgrade (like it's software or something?), and it was never done.

I'm feeling pretty darn clueless at this point...hopefully not for long.

    thanks for your input

I've gone through the AP files - that was my first thought. The company that I am understanding installed this honeywell system, Beaudoin Electric out of Monson Mass, is no longer in Business. The owner, Mark Trapanier has opened another similar business in Auburn MA just two weeks ago, called TC Controls. I call the number and there is no answer--it just rings and rings, and there is no answering machine.

I feel like a prisoner! but there is one other person I can call to see if he has the diagram or configuration of our system...I did look around the furnace room to see if there was any related info on the Honeywell setup or system, but nothing.

    thanks for your input!

    Okay... Some contacts

    Bonnie,

I called the Honeywell office closest to you, they
    cover Springfield, not your area.

They gave me a number for the Boston office,

George Pagliuca, 617-558-2941, direct. He will be
out of the office till Thur.

There is also a distributor that handles Honeywell commercial controls, perhaps they may know of someone
    in your area.

    Interstate HVAC Controls
    30 Vineland Street
    Brighton MA 02135
    (617) 782-9000 (800) 989-2289 (617) 254-2247 (FAX)

These folks may be able to help with someone in your area.

As to the ongoing problem, something could have been
misconfigured in software or could have been wrong from
day one, or it could be something simple for the pro to
    spot, just not obvious.

Further, from what I see, that system uses T7770 remote
temp sensors, of which there are at least a half dozen
    different models.

Rooftop Units, are what these type systems were designed to control.

Depending on exactly what you have, the system may contain a dozen or more "networked devices" that must "talk to" the central controller, anyone of which has the capacity to throw the system out of whack.

Hard to see things over the net.

thanks so much!! I'm continuing to learn as the day goes on as well. I've also learned there is a password...but we don't know it, only the contractor who serviced the system in the past does....niiice!

I'll let you know how we make out. Again, thanks for your help!

So it's got a bad outdoor sensor. This happens; it's happened to me. Maybe nothing to do with the thermostat, just the outdoor sensor.
