Is this high pressure?

by a steaming radiator vent. Stuck open, blowing steam. A tap with a shoe or something hard closed it. This happens maybe once every week or two. I've replaced the vent but it still happens.
Meanwhile I look at my boiler and when it is steaming, the pressure gauge (it actually says "Internal Syphon Gauge" on it) is up around 10. And my pressuretrol is set to 0.5 cut-in, 1 differential.
I should mention that this is used for DHW too (coil), and when it is heating up for that, the gauge reads 4 or so.
A picture below of the pressuretrol.
So, is my system going at 10 psi or is the gauge showing some other units?
And, if it is running that high, perhaps that explains my vent that won't close. The vent is on some baseboard steam and is a Heat-Timer Varivalve (no pic).
Any help/thoughts appreciated.

Shut er down
Get help bacause the guage reading is way beyond the pressure troll setting.......0 -
most likely
a clogged pigtail. Get a pro in there to clean it and do a system inspection.

Well-
If the gauge is right, it might explain why the vent gave up the ghost-check the max pressure listed for the vent. The Hoffman # 1 (common as nails) has a max limit of ten psi. Give it a few years operation, might be less. And if the gauge is right, your pressuretrol may be in for retirement (again, if the pigtail isn't plugged.)0 -
pro coming tonight...
Have a pro coming tonight to talk about a new boiler (has been in the works anyway) and also to look at this high pressure thing.
It's a relatively new vent (<1 year old) and I can't find anything in the varivalve literature that talks about max pressure.
Thanks to everyone for the info.
