should have info showing the Cv of the valves. The Cv is the GPMs the valve will flow with a 1 psi drop.

Most often using a check the same size of the pipe is over sized. You should select the check by it's flow rate for noise free installations.

I like the soft seat, low pop pressure checks. Conbraco, Watts, and most other valve manufactures offer this type. And a cone shaped check is better than a flat disc type for hydronic applications.

This is a check from the Grundfos Super Brute circulator. Cone shaped, light spring pressure.

    Is there any difference in pressure drop or other performance variables between standard swing checks, "Y" pattern and ring checks? thanks ahead of time.

    It takes very little pressure to open a center spring silent check valve. And they work in ALL positions.
