I"m building a pumping away modual, and am going to zone on the return side . would it be wise / nessecery to include a flow control valve on the feed side after the circulator ?

I usually install on the return. If you are zonning with pumps you need them. Zone valves, Not. If I am reading you right.0 -

the circ is going to be on the supply but the zone valves will be on the return . i was /am concerned with gravity flow out to the system .

Not necessary
You won't get any gravity flow to zones with closed zone valves. You'd just be adding head to the system.
Don't over complicate things, even for mis-guided "insurance".0 -
If
the radiation is located above the boiler it is possible, sometimes, to get some thermal migration. Why not use a circ with an internal check then both sides, S&R, are protected for the same $$'s as a regular non check circ.
