left hand radiator bushing

i'm learning a heck of a lot just reading dan's stories, so late last night i read what i had suspected, that the leftie plugs were for connecting in series. the plug on there is a bit too thin to tap without somehow beefing up the wall thickness, so i thought of a few other innovations.
but i'd rather at the moment just buy some bushings from a supplier. i'm still tracking it down. thanks to all who wrote me and helped this neophyte out.

    left hand radiator bushing

hi- i am restoring/renovating some gorgeous old cast iron radiators for a new boiler system and have bumped into a curiosity; a left hand threaded nut. the radiators were once steam, therefore they only have one opening. in order to convert them to hydronic i am opening up the opposite side, only to find this! i have cut/broken one away, revealing the threads inside. i need a bushing that goes from 1 1/2" ipt left hand male to 3/4" right hand female! or should i just make it? or should i just give up! any and all help is welcome. anectotes, too, please. i really liked the one about the paint used to determine surface area. eb

LH threads are so you can combine rad sections. There have been several threads about this so far this season...may be why the lack of response. Burnahm heating may have them, and someone posted a place to get them, but I do not recall. Maybe start a new thread and title it...where do I get LH thread bushings. They'll write back.

That's what I did. Someone had a place to call for these.
