System 2000 Install (Minsky)

Here is a recent System 2000 Install that I did as a subcontractor for a larger oil company that was too swamped to handle this emergency boiler replacement.

I had worked for this company before I started my own and it pays to develop lasting relationships in the industry.

The Customer had a peerless (Sorry for not having any before pictures) with too many issues to deal with. The coice between three proposals was [System 2000 (me) Buderus (me) and Hydrotherm (another company)] was a heat only EK-1 that the storage tank could be added at a later date to relieve the electric hot water bills.

A few things about these pictures, I didnt get any of the flow check on the supply line thats up towards the ceiling more, but I assure you it is there. I didnt use a pressure differential balancing valve on this install simply because I dont find zone valve noise to be a problem on System 2000's because of the two bypasses they already have built into the piping.

I always gripe about everyone elses oil lines, so I made sure to take many pictures of mine. The boiler side is suppoerted by EMT conduit run from floor to ceiling for the sole purpose of supporting the oil line. The horizontal run across the joist bays are supported with strapping. And the oil tank side is supported with strapping from floor to ceiling also. I use my 4" PVC coupling for the nice tight expansion loops on either end. I don't normally use flowchecks on my overhead oil lines as I haven't had many loss of prime issues with suntec pumps.

Enjoy the pics, and as always your input is welcome.
