pergo underlayment

Hello i have a question can some one help me i just installed a radiant floor above floor sandwich using thermofin plates and sleepers was going to install pergo flooring will the underlayment they use restrict the heat, if so can you recomend something else to use Thank you Joe

    Yes it restricts a small amount of heat flow. You can usually overcome this by ensuring the insulation under the floor is adequate to "drive" the heat upward. The more resistance you can put under the floor the better. Water temps will have to be a little higher than what you would run under a real wood floor. The floor surface temp should be closely monitored the first few days to ensure that it doesn't go too high. Modulating water temp is much preffered to an on/off style control for these systems.
