That's the only show in town except for

a backfilled bathtub type. Spend the dough, it's still cheaper than a new boiler, or maybe make the down payment on a ...................

    If that's the Lynn kit

that's shown in the R.E. Michel catalog, it should be worth the expense. I've installed a bunch of their kits, including one in my own boiler, and they work very well.

    The RS

is a dry base steel boiler. No Wet packs here! OEM only.

Haven't changed one lately but the early ones require considderable effort, IE: lift the block

  • RS Chamber

The combustion chamber used on the RS and RSA series boilers is a preformed chamber and can not be replaced with anything but the OEM replacement. Before ordering the chamber, take a close look at the steel base assembly to ensure that no damage has occured to it, particularly in the rear. This is a dry base type boiler and if the chamber has broken down, then the heat of the flame could have done harm to the base assembly also.

The replacement can be ordered as a chamber only or as a base assembly with chamber. Either way, the boiler vessel assembly will have to be jacked up to replace the base or the chamber as the chamber has an upper lip that is sandwiched between the base and vessel. As for a reason why these chambers break down, more often than not it encounters some sort of damage during the cleaning process by the cleaning brush hitting it. Hope this helps.
