Cancelling a job

Options
calls in sick , and you have to cancel a job , or at least reschedule , how do you handle it ? Is it worded in the contract ? Is it talked about before the customer signs ? We have it happen sometimes , and with most every couple both working , sometimes they get livid . Some want a days pay for the time taken off , some threaten to sue . Which makes our people in the office leery to cancel anything .

    Generally speaking..

there is a clause near the end of our contract that talks about delays.

    DELAYS:

The Owner understands that delays in the initiation of the work contemplated herein may be caused by other worker on the project or for reasons beyond the control of Advanced Hydronics, Inc. Once work is begun by Advanced Hydronics, Inc., however, Advanced Hydronics will work diligently to complete the project as soon as practical. Advanced Hydronics, Inc. is not liable for any damages, consequential or otherwise, arising from delays in the completion of work as set forth herein.

    Hope this helps.

If after a profuse apology, it was still a problem

we would probably knock 100 bucks off, which probably less than many folks are earning anyway....most of our customers are very understanding. md
