most of the residents complain about it being to cold. So the ones who benefits are the staff and visitors! Why ask the people who live there!Quess this is what happens when the "do-gooders" get involved. I have found that the N.H. I service, heats for 9 out of 12 months here in mass.and somedays they are both on. John@Reliable

    I found one state that requires it

    So far I have found one state - New Hampshire - that requires mechanical air conditioning in new commercial construction after 1990. Everyone else requires nursing homes to maintain a "comfortable" range usually 70 - 80 degrees.

    So what happens when temps exceed 80 degrees? Wet towels, a lot of ice, fans set to high, cold baths? Seems kinda "gray" to expect the comfort level to be maintained without mechanical a/c, just like one wouldn't expect nursing homes to be without mechanical heat during the winter -- but none is required!
