In a primary /secondary system (multipull zones / radiant, baseboard, indirect hot water)on a residential boiler is it best to have the boiler maintain temperature and the primary circulator on constant circulation or cold start boiler primary circulator on a aquastate control or a combination.(boiler shock / efficiency my concerns) thank you

HB SMITH steam boiler leaking ?

We have a boiler that must hold a 45 psi hydrostatic test. We replaced an end section that had hole in it. When we put pressure on it it leaks at the bottom port. Because they use gaskets instead of nipples we are not sure how to stop them from leaking. Two out of eight leak.If we tighten them that might cause another one to leak? not sure what would happen if we tried stop leak because of the neopreme gaskets. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. We need to make it through the winter.New boiler sceduled for next summer. This boiler is 20 years old. There is another boiler beside this one but we don't know if one will carry the load ?

    bypass

consider installing a system bypass with Danfoss/ESBE TV
valve where bypass joins return. Cold start boiler.
