Older ITT to Asco main gas train solenoid guts

Only so much room in header and couldn’t quite pick most appropriate topic- have a shot littler older ITT main train solenoid- coil ok- crosses to asco with near identical part numbers with except for a letter at end. From the pics I did see of part online body wise looks identical but stock photos can lie to us. Regardless having made mistake as we know if every diaphragm hole isn’t perfect no work- long story short wondering if anybody has had the pleasure or knows if guts are interchangeable from the ITT to the asco? If not guess we’ll find out. But if someone for sure says no for sure not gonna bother. Naturally trying to avoid piping in whole body as naturally unions are a mile apart and everything’s close and shoulder nipples.

    DO NOT disassemble a gas valve and interchange parts. Even if the items are identical part numbers and were manufactured by the same company. Unless the manufacturers instructions specifically state that a part is adjustable or replaceable, most parts have not internal replaceable parts. Most gas trane products like pressure regulators, and valves have not internal replaceable parts. That will void warranty and may cause an unsafe condition.

    Is this the case for complicated and large commercial valves as well? It seems like at some point you have to allow field rebuilding of valve and regulator systems.

    But for residential work disassembling and repairing a valve is forbidden.

    I totally agree I’m not talking a forced air gas valve. I’m talking a spring plunger and diaphragm. It seems a little to convenient how they place 4 standard  machine screws vs all proprietary do not touch. Reality is I’ve doped up a few pilot solenoid seats or two over off cycle flame faults until could be back to replace.

    If the coil is bad you can replace the coil you just need to find the right one. If your working on the valve internals I would check with the mfg and only put in the factory parts.

    If they don't sell the parts you will have to change the entire valve

    There is a. Video posted today I think about a home in Flint. Watch that before you take a gas valve apart. Also if you are capable of taking the valve apart you can go through the trouble of dealing out with a new valve.
