COVID-19: People told to open windows this winter to decrease coronavirus risk.

Hmmm, History has this way of repeating itself. But now versus 102 years ago, we have a lot more travel, and many more people. What a plentiful and tasty food source we must look like to the virus! I suppose now we should wonder if heat pumps will keep us warm in winter with the windows open. :#

Guess we better go back to upsizing to boilers that can heat the building with the windows open :):)

I don't know about you folks, but I'm about at my wit's end with this crap. Covid, politics, 2020 in general can be over any day now

I agree. The worst thing to do for all of our mental health is to turn the news on. Covid fatigue

I was talking to some local Amish this summer. I asked if they knew, or had anyone in their community with COVID. His response "no we dont have TV"..... Not to make light of it, but that is a good explanation.....

My neighbor doesn't own a TV. He is retired from an analytical software company but he does not have a computer or an i-pad in his house. He gets the newspaper every day-that is his only connection to the world outside of our neighborhood.

He is the most relaxed, drug-free, person I know.

We don't have TV much either. I wholly recommend it.

I don't mind the carry on & carry over. What's going on right now is important, and there are plenty of opportunities for learning.
Just like my work, there are fascinating causes & effects that need interpretation, consideration, & processing. The path to solutions can be repetitive, thought provoking, boring, arduous, and at times barely believable,
I find that the exercise of my full range of emotion is beneficial, and the dynamics that give me pause and make me chuckle are especially enjoyable.

Ha! I live in Amish country. They didnt believe in it. Our county just went purple cause of them. A lot of covid involved in their 2-300 people gatherings. A lot of recent deaths. A lot of denial still. A lot of others becoming infected cause of Amish activity.
To their credit, many of them are singing a different song now that they got hit by it. (Telling their community to take it seriously)

@DanHolohan has a story I like about "How did that boiler get so big" that includes "...sizing the boiler large enough to heat the house on the coldest day of the year with the windows open...and half as much larger for the husband...". I have told versions of it in many of the classes that I have taught over the years. I think if he can recover the original text (if any) and tell it the way he did in his Hydronid seminars I attended back in the 80s or 90s, it would be a great story for the "Dead Men Tails"

He told a mini-version of the story in the "Making Steam Heat Efficient" webinar. I love those stories, Dan.
