What to do with removed 9 ft wall radiator?

I have a 9 ft Pierce Buttler wall radiator that I no longer need. I estimate it at 90 EDR. Does anyone have any suggestions on anything useful/helpful to do with it other than scrap metal? I'd really hate to trash it...

Put it on Ebay. Joke! You could contact your area wholesale plumbing and heating company and ask if you could put up a note that the tradesmen could see, offering it.

You can try an architectural salvage. Looks like a few in Philadelphia.

"Wagner Salvage" (no relation) says they specialize in cast iron radiators.

They said they don't buy or trade. I guess they get all their rads for free??

Will they take it away for free? That might be the best you can hope for.

I found, at least in my area, there isn't much of a market for old rads. Especially the very large rads like yours.

I'm redoing a church about an hour north of Philadelphia -- I can't use it either. When I was redoing my place in Chestnut Hill years ago ... nice ones were hard to find.

I would hate to trash it as well ... sounds like the type that was in the utility rooms and garage at my grandparents house on the main line.

I'm not sure when the big transformation occurred -- so many middle class houses lost radiators ..replaced with fin tube.

In my area, I am the market. Admittedly, it's not a very large market, like you said.

I would love a 9 ft wall radiator for my future garage project. Unfortunately, Philly is a little too far away from Canada
You can have it good, fast or cheap. Pick two

its sort of funny....here in Chicago, where hot water has been pushed since the 60's, my radiator guy probably recycles about 2000 radiators a year.

That's a good idea @Hap_Hazzard I'd like to see some pictures. I've been known to drive a long way for unique radiators

I wouldn't even have to drive that far, but I need to know if I can use it.

If anybody is looking for a condensate radiator for a basement or garage, this would be great for that.

Who do you use for radiators? Just curious. I've been searching for a particular radiator for several years.

    I assume that's designed for steam ?

That's the type I remember in the garage of my grandparents -- what do you think the output w/ hot water ?

Is it all one long section ?

Here is a pdf that shows some more detail. https://heatinghelp.com/assets/documents/Pierce-Butler.pdf

I can take photos of any detail you're interested in.

The assembly seems to be put together as two halves, each w/ press nipples and then the halves with left/right nipples.

I have the brackets as well. I can probably help load into a truck.

Thanks for posting that PDF. I couldn't find these radiators in my EDR book, so I printed the pages and added them.
