    While their reactor wasn't exactly a model design it was ultimately the operators that f'ed up that one.

    I think they still do a lot of work for hte US Navy and still make nuclear reactors according ot wiki. They also just moved their headquarters last you to Akron. Wonder if they traded that boiler for a sweet tax abatement. Haha.

    I remember the boilers on the Iowa Class battleships being B&W. 8 oil fired boilers producing 158MW for the propulsion system. That’s about 16,000 boiler HP, or 3000 more than this boiler heating the downtown of Akron.

    Seems awfully small for a 450K lb/hr boiler , maybe the picture shows just a boiler section.
    Like to know how the improved the boiler efficiency, if there was any new technology other than parallel positioning with economizers.
