Old Boiler Specs

If anyone is interested I came across the 1956 Bryant spec sheet for my boiler. Comparing to the current Peerless it seemed interesting that the water line dimension from the floor is exactly the same number as the total cabinet height on the Peerless. I wonder what accounts for that?

I have the #7 boiler which seems to match up with the 64-09 Peerless. The shipping weight on mine is 38% more than the Peerless and the water content 78% more. I suppose that is why I never have a thought about tripping on low water.

I wish I had a price to compare.

Anyone have a comment about what improvements have come along in 63 years?

Interesting that the header and supply size recommendations haven't changed much for equivalently rated boilers over time.

I would have expected the newer boilers recommendations to require larger/more when compared to the old recommendations based on the smaller steam chest size, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

I believe taller risers are required on the PB; 24" above NWL.
    More height for water separation.
