IN SEARCH OF A STEAM SYSTEM EXPERT

Can anyone recommend a contractor that understands residential steam heating systems that services the Essex County area of Massachusetts. Cities in the area are Lynn, Salem, Peabody, Danvers ….. + others …

I need to find someone who can inspect and perform a yearly maintenance service, and can recommend changes to an existing system in order to make it more efficient.

Thanks,

C

Try New England SteamWorks: (401) 954-3510.

    One of the best.

I'm in that area. I PM you my number. Happy to help in any way I can, even if all you need is recommendations on how to improve the systems.

    Thank-you all for your input.

I have tried the contractor search in heating help. Not one contractor has responded. Even after I tried to contact them by phone and leaving messages …..

I did try STEAMWORKS. They no longer service Essex County due to high traffic volumes on I93. It is Ryan that suggested that I try to find someone via this method. Even though he could not help me directly he took to time to point me in the right direction.

My message has resulted in one interested potential contractor. I am hopeful.

    Boston traffic is the pits

I live just south of Boston and the traffic is horrendous. I think some of the increase is because a lot of folks have second (and even 3rd) jobs, rush hour just never seems to end. Having a crippled transit system does nothing to help matters.

When the public transportation in Boston is 3rd world it forces way more cars on the road and Uber/Lyft drivers just to handle it. Complete dumpster fire going on with MBTA daily derailments, fires, signal issues, air brakes.

I follow them on Twitter just to chuckle at the rage.

I have an office at my house where I normally work but also an office in Somerville just north of Boston. I have some meetings today so I only schedule the first to start at 11am. The traffic will still be an hour just to go 14 miles.

For most of my life I worked in Watertown but lived in Quincy, you had to be out of the house at 0530 (0800 work start) to miss most of the rush hour traffic. That was 15 years ago and traffic has gotten much worse since then.

Yeah 0530 is almost worse than 8 now, going up route 3 to 93 due to all the cape traffic.

I'm also in Quincy, 45 minutes to go 9 miles most days.
