Thank you all for the knowledge

Just wanted to say thank you all again for the knowledge over the years and to all the people readily willing to provide it.

I am part of a large industrial burner group on Facebook (mostly geared towards industrial and process systems) and every now and then someone will come through with a vapor steam system question. They usually get bombarded with “why would you run the pressure that low? Turn that pressure up! You need pressure to get the steam to the other end of the system! You size the steam boiler based on building heat loss! You need more steam pressure to make the traps work!” Etc etc.

I hate every time I see that because I can’t help myself and I will spend the next however many hours arguing with someone while trying to educate them. It usually starts with basic physics of fluids and gas and it can be impossible to convince someone who’s been working on boilers for 30 years that they are misinformed...

But anyways... I’m just glad I didn’t end up ignorant and I have a lot of people here to thank for that. Looking forward to seeing people at Wetstock!!!
Never stop learning.

I will happily jump on the "Thank YOU" message for the site and the people on it. It has made me much smarter. I just with I had more information to add to the conversation at times.

    I agree with @Mike_Sheppard
The thing I like about this site is I feel like I am not alone inside an unfamiliar boiler room. If I see something I do not know I can post a pic or question and hear from some of the sharpest minds in the industry. Its like calling in the calvary. LOL I learn something new every day.

old heating system are a different animal than industrial and process systems. sometimes those systems need to run a higher pressure. The higher the pressure the more you deal with flash steam etc.

But it's a matter of trying to determine what the system was origianaly designed for.

And then fixing everyone else's screw ups and additions along the way
