Our 16 year old Burnham Revolution is on its last legs. I have had two service companies out and they both said the same thing, but in different ways. Today, 2 of our 4 zones are working. One isn't working at all, and another is trying very hard to keep up with the cold.

So, here's my question: I have quotes on a Burnham Alp105BW-4T02 and a Bosch Greenstar FS-100. I know we aren't talking money here, but I should say that one is much more expensive than the other. The question is: what is your opinion of these two boilers? In both cases, we'll be attaching a Superstor SSU45 indirect hot water tank, making it 5 zones. Do you like one boiler more than the other? Is one more likely to last 15-20 years?
Thanks very much for your opinions on these products.

The installer is the critical ingredient in the equation here. A bad installer can make an excellent boiler short-lived, and inefficient.
Do you remember what they said? It's only about half lived at 16 years old. Is it leaking?--NBC

I agree what is wrong with the boiler at only 16 years old. It’s still heating, but zones are not heating? That could be a lot of other things besides the boiler.

The zones not keeping up are probably struggling because the other zones are not heating.

So be specific on what the two service companies said in different ways. Not just you need a new boiler....
