What's involved in converting Apollo Hydroheat to Traditional Set up?

Hello
I am a homeowner with a 3 story home in Alabama. There was an Apollo Hydroheat set up when we bought it last year and it seemed to work fine so we didn't prioritize changing anything. It's now failing and it seems these guys are no longer in business. Our gas bills are very high with the two water heaters (both serve the whole house, not different levels) and we're thinking it may be best to just separate the HVAC and water heaters and go with a traditional set up rather than trying to repair these units.

Does anyone know 1) how difficult it would be and 2) what it would take to make such a switch?

Thanks for any and all insights.

If that were my house, depending on the heat and hot-water loads, I might consider a gas boiler and an indirect tank. But we'd need to know more about your situation.

A good contractor will start with a heat-loss calculation on your house, which will determine the heating load at the coldest temperature you'd see in your area. Then they'll determine how much hot water you'll need, which takes into account the laundry, kitchen, bathrooms, how many teenagers or future teenagers you have, etc.

BTW, how cold does it get in Alabama? I've never been there.
