That boggles the mind, more money (our money) than brains.

We now know the difference between a liberal and a conservative administration - nothing when it comes to spending..

Meh. It's an accounting gimmick. It's expensive for a one-off, but if you think that's a high price tag, I'd like to see the numbers for whatever they're sticking in the latest aircraft that's rolling off the line. Including the total engineering costs, as it appears this number includes.

Anything on an aircraft must withstand a very hard landing without damaging the aircraft, or killing anyone. And it is only for one or two aircraft. Not much volume here.

It will likely use engine bleed air mixed with ram air at around -59*F. it has to hold 3000+meals in case of nuclear war . Whoever is on board , has to live in orbit and be refueled for weeks.

It is a little more sophisticated than heating an earthbound home!

It is a home travelling at 38000 ft, flying at around 600mph.

Small price but we do not discuss price on this board! ; )

The Boeing 747-8, part of President Trump's plan to keep the costs of the presidential airlift recapitalization program under control. The conversion process starts in 2019 with the planes set to enter service in 2024.
