1 take off 2 mains

When you guys get to a job and there is a T that is not bull headed do you guys break that tee and use 2 take offs off of the header?

Looking back at a job and it looks like the last guy unioned the 2 mains together..

Disadvantages to doing it that way?

    Nobody wants to run anything bigger than 2". The mains should come out of the header separately.

    When in doubt check the edr and size accordingly. the lower the steam velocity the better. But if a bunch of radiation has been removed............
