Your boiler is too close (violates code) to the oil tank.

Is the LWCO in the wrong spot?

Yea, The LWCO is way too high. It should be in that tapping down low, under the Presssuretrol/pressure gauge. It is to shut the boiler off at a low water level. Where it is now it will shut the boiler off every time it runs and then flood the boiler with added water.

Actually, according to the tapping diagram:

    http://www.peerlessboilers.com/DesktopModules/Bring2mind/DMX/Download.aspx?EntryId=37&PortalId=0&DownloadMethod=attachment

that tapping location is correct for a primary LWCO. I'll bet the LWCO is mounted so the probe attaches at the bottom of the housing, which makes it look too high in the pics. This would also put the LED indicator lights where you can't see them.

The other tapping is for a secondary LWCO.

Not sure what (if any) Codes are in force in that area regarding the oil tank location relative to the boiler.

the low water cut off is in the right spot, i checked the operation, peerless gives an extra spot for extra protection if wanted and yes the oil tank is to close to the burner code is 5 feet but i wasnt contracted to move the tank,we will see what the inspector says and if he catches it im sure i will get contracted to move the tank, love peerless steamers they are the only boiler that has 14 gallons of water all the rest have 10.7, i checked believe me, i like the fact that peerless offers a larger water content than all the rest for steam i feel its needed , thanks for the observations guys!!!, but this job is solid, i guarantee it, its my reputation and here in CT i have a solid built reputation for fixing problems no else can and installs that are the best around this area, thats how i got this job!!!

If you do have a problem, instead of moving it, you can construct a 1 hour fire rated wall between the two.

My apologies @newagedawn . The LWCO looked way to high. Obviously not!

  • Do you have any pictures of the back of your boiler where the equalizer and Hartford loop connect?
    8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour

Two btu per sq ft for degree difference for a slab

@Alan (California Radiant) Forbes its just the 2 " equalizer into a 2 by 1 1/2 tee it reduces to the boiler to 1 1/2 and the returns go to the 1 1/2 hartford loop,... i think i have a pic if you really want to see it

Code says 5' to the tank from source of ignition. That is NFPA code nation wide. The rest looks great.
