Customer got numerous quotes for an oil to gas conversion and wanted to remove steam mains in the middle of basement. Every other quote was to remove steam system and install a warm air system with central air. We repiped steam system....i will be installing boiler tomorrow......i also installed a 3ton Carrier ductless with 4 indoor units for air conditioning. The copper pipe i wish be replacing once the general contractor pulls up the floor....the propress is just temporary.theres another main not pictured ill post pic once boiler is installed....

    Very nice looking job!

It seems that the low voltage people can always leave their mark of untidiness. They either don't have a wire cutter or anything resembling a stapler......it's just git er done! Always....everywhere. I have pre-wired many phone/data systems for them to connect their feeds to and it makes my work look like it exploded... :o .

I am sure it will be fine as long as the pressure is low.

The low voltage is a mess and yes, cable, phone and data is all part of the National Electric code. The code says "neat and workman like manner" unfortunately the cable & phone guys don't care in most cases.

My personal favorite is when they lay it all on the ceiling grid. You can't even get the tiles out.

A good piping job really shows off the lousy low voltage

Low voltage is seldom ever subject to any inspection.
There are directives in the NEC for installation.
Also the NEC states that abandoned cabling must be removed if not in use. Spares must be tagged on each end.

However, if in the way that stuff will really stretch to be relocated, this may have happen on occasion requiring a visit from cable dudes, crawling into some dark hole etc. :)

@Paul S. SAVE AND A BEAUTY! Great work. Really curious to see if the pressed stuff can hold up. The viega fittings are rated for steam. I have used on repairs a few times where homeowner didn't want complete repipe

Copycat @Paul S! looks awesome. The "A" dimension on my counterflow job is even tighter. Have no fear, the Vaporstat will do its job.

it runs great @Steamhead ..... the dimension "A" is only about 14 inches above the water line, which had me nervous at first, and the piping around the window . but i used a vaporstat with a cut out pressure at around 10 or so ounces....its very quiet and heats up very quickly. also the pic with the pipe threader shows a drip from a radiator run out , i came from the end of the main dropped into the run of a oversized tee ....the bull of the tee leads to the radiator run out and the other side of the run drips into a wet return.....that radiator heats up the fastest which i had a doubt about it even heating
