Boiler chemicals

Hey there, gents

I'd like to pick your brains on subject of boiler water treatment chemicals. When performing a annual maintenance, which are the good chemicals to use? Steam and hot water boilers.

Thanks so much!

Best to test the fluid to see if any treatment is required. The boiler manufacturers are getting pretty adamant about fluid quality. I think you will see more and more warranty refusals when water quality does not meet their requirements

Ph and TDS are good numbers to know. Either treat the water, or fill the systems with DI water

It's a three step process, clean the system with a hydronic "detergent". Fill with DI water, Add inhibitors for best protection

Test the fluid every few years. If you have non barrier radiant tube for example, you may need an ongoing chemical regiment

My plumber did not put any treatment. He said my water PH was fine.
