Is the MegaSteam/FSZ the only small option still available?

Any 3-pass options offered in the 650 - 1000 ft² range?

    Hurst makes the S45 in 8.5 BHP, though I almost hate to ask how much ;)

    Kinda on the large side for "small".
    Looks like a nice boiler though!

    This morning I asked. Roughly 9x the cost of a Slant/Fin TR-60.

    I'd love to. A 3-pass wet-back fire-tube with a 28" x 31" footprint? How cool is that?

    To be fair, cost on the next two larger sizes is nearly the same.

    Returning to my original question, and assuming the 5-section MST/FSZ turns out to be too small, I have come up with the following wet-base options:

    Burnham V8H (362k and down)
    Burnham 9A (447k and up)
    Crown Series 24 (438k and up)
    Slant/Fin Intrepid (434k and down)
    Weil 80 series (346k and up)

    I like a 4" supply, so that leaves Weil 80, Burnham 9A, and Crown. I won't use Burnham for steam (except MegaSteam), and I've never used Crown. I have done quite a few Weil 80s, and I like them. Easy choice for me.

    Oh yes. Space is not a significant concern there.

    I was just impressed that someone was still making small Scotch Marine boilers. We came across one about that size on a job a couple years ago and after a bit of cleaning by the new owner it came right back to life. Natural draft, but could date from the 1950's.
