    I did fix the hanging AC-ready kit/wiring.
    Hope he never needs the burner pulled!

    When are people going to learn, they call them crawlspaces NOT equipmentspaces! If you can't afford another 10 sq ft in the house you can't afford heating or cooling either.

    I've got four crawlspaces and zero of them have HVAC equipment unless you count steam pipes.

    They call them crawlspaces but what they should really be called is "was too damn lazy to dig a basement". Mine was done in the 1800s so they had an excuse.

    What's the excuse now?

    A buddy has a house on the ocean that is on top of a 20 ft granite outcropping - 40 ft from his living room to the ocean. His furnace in in a 5ft high hollow in the continental shelf. The house was built in the late forties by a guy that did almost all of it himself. I'll guess he wasn't confident of his abilities with blasting powder.

    The good thing is the crawl is usually dry unless there is a hellacious rain storm. There is a sump that was hacked out with a hammer and chisel about 4ft from the furnace with is up on 16" blocks.
