Joe and his crew were great and super knowledge about steam; the best that I've found. I've been trying to contact them but haven't been able to reach them. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Joe closed his business down a few months ago. He sold most of his equipment and inventory and I know he posted on here a week or two ago to let the Pros know he had one truck and a small amount of parts inventory left for sale. I think he is now with another company. You can PM him and he might be able to give you some additional info. @JStar is his name on this site.

There ar a couple of good guys that service his area. I believe @Dave0176 is one of them. Perhaps others will pipe in with alternatives to get you and the boiler/chimney sorted out.

Do you have a number of how many visit Strictly Steam?

Not for any one area. I can tell how many are on the whole site. I can also see what threads are getting the most attention. Igor's story about vacuum heating is No. 2 right now. No. 1 is about lockout problems with W-M's GV boiler. That's a thread that goes back to 2012

    I can't fathom what a 6"union would cost.

LOL! you don't use a 6" union unless you have to ;)

@EzzyT has more $$ in the 4 6" tees and 2 6" elbows than most people spend on all their near boiler piping. BTW, a 6" flanged union is about 2/3 the price of a 6" tee, so I'm more impressed with all the use of threaded 6" fittings. I still like to create welded headers (with threadolets as needed to provided proper swing joints), that's just my personal thing.

Yeah those 6" fittings are a pretty penny and man handling 2-5' steel pipe wrenches are no joke.

Ezzy has stepped in for me when Joe and Thatcher "vanished." He really did great work at my home, is extremely knowledgeable and sincere, and offered other items to consider for my wife and me.
I was lucky to find him when I was looking for a STEAM guy after we bought our home in the spring.

EzzyT - Joe also used to work on our boiler. Can't get a hold of him anymore. If you want to take over please contact me. Would like to get the seasonal service done.
