So did you quote them for repairs and replacement? How did they react to that? If they did that shame on them, if they bought it like that...well I hope they got a really good deal.

Yes, I'll be working up a quote for a replacement and repair. They definitely did these "repairs" themselves. 5 of the radiators have been cut out and "capped" with bicycle inner tubes. Yikes.

Judging by their "fixes" I would guess there isn't a quote low enough. Why the heck would they disconnect 5 radiators. I've heard of one maybe 2, but 5?! If you get the job you have to post after shots for us!

The electrical work looks similarly disturbing.

No official 'wall of shame' here yet, but these would make a pretty good start...

I'm guessing that bottle of wine might have something to do with it.

You'll be the next in the long line of professionals that will be bad mouthed by them for trying to rip them off.

That boiler is between 50 and 70 years old. Ask them how many automobiles they have owned since the boiler was manufactured or installed.

For some people, the "Cheap Gene" is a genetic birth defect and can not be repaired. So cheap, that he spends money to keep in the cheap mode.

Steamhead says you can't fix stupid.

    You can't educate stupid either.

You can't educate or fix cheap either. That wine is even cheap.

    Foam core at that!

I've always wondered what the temperature rating on inner tubes was!
