I have to build a false water line on a upcoming boiler replacement.... But I will not be able to bring the inverted loop up 4 feet per dan's book the lost art. ...I will only be able to go up 30 inches to the top of the inverted loop seal then I have the 28 inches for the "A" dimension. Will it work as it should? Do I have another option if it can't work? Thanks Paul S

    put the wet returns under water at the height you want to use? if so you should be fine..

    FWL

    I usually only cover the returns with a few inches of water with a false water line. This practice is mainly influenced by the super low basements we always seem to be working in. With the FWL being equalized on both sides, you shouldn't have a problem as long as the returns are covered with water, and the FWL connection is an appropriate A Dimension below the steam mains.
