thanks to all, i have heat

I would not have had a prayer of putting the thing in myself without: Dan;s books and his website of experts such as Gordo, Steamhead, Boiler Pro, Long Beach Ed, NBC, Gerry Gill, Rod, Dave in QCA, but especially Crash 2009 and Hap_Hazzard who together detailed with those great drawings the correct way to build a drop header.

The system is absolutely quiet and runs on a 1/4 lb of pressure.  The Mega-Steam was good to work with, thoughtfully designed and beautifully made.

If anyone in the Boston area needs help I'd be happy to pass on what I've learned.

Thanks again guys for helping out all us greenhorns.

    Looks good!

no wonder it runs so well. The MegaSteam usually runs well anyway, but with a header like that, you can't lose.

that's high praise coming from you.  thanks.  I went that way because its a counter-flow system with a 2" main which, as you well know, can be problematic if you don't pay attention to detail.

let me ask you...can I yank out the cycle guard and just rely on the mm-67.  to me its just another thing to break.  or will it not work with that thing out of the circuit?

    I wouldn't rely on a 67

these days they don't seem to last. Burnham does, or did, sell MegaSteams with M&M probe-type LWCOs, so that may be the way to go if the CycleGuard is causing problems.
