    Proceed with caution.

Could be bad ignition, bad ground, bad gas or air supply.
  • Also....

The troubleshooting section of the manual says to check your flue and make-up air to see if there are any obstructions

    AND

check your condensate drain.  It could be clogged and backing up into the fire box.
    8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour

Two btu per sq ft for degree difference for a slab

Was the old flame rod red in color?

Check to see if the drain line is clear. Have someone pour a glass of water into the vent pipe and see if it comes out the drain line fairly fast. My guess is the drain line is plugged.

When was the boiler cleaned last?

Condensate trap blocked I bet. Water backed up.

When was unit last serviced? Probably build up in heat x and  condensate trap. Clearing condensate trap may be temp measure but unit needs servicing once a year to help prevent shut downs. Combustion byproducts build up in combustion chamber.  Good luck and Happy New year.
