what if any are the advantages of a inverted bucket over a f&t on a low pressure sten system under !% lbs. ?

    None

    they don't handle air well, and they require more attention than F&T traps. The only place they work well is if you have to lift condensate to an overhead return.

    thank you very much. next ?. whitch will move more condesate bucket or a f&t? iwork for a boiler company in dc and we deal with a lot of low pressure steam & some one pipe steam.can never have enough help.we are the next dead men. dan is great! look foreword to your to your answer.

    To answer that question

    I'd need to know whose traps you're using- make, model etc. Many manufacturers have trap performance charts online, which makes it easier to determine what they will do.



    In general, the F&T is the better choice for heating work. If you need more air-venting capacity than an F&T can provide, you can do something like this:

    One-pipe steam systems generally don't use traps, unless a pumped-return is involved. And most pumped-return setups really aren't needed.
