Utica Gas Boiler Model 125AGB, won't light

Hello,

We bought this house earlier in the year, so don't know much about our system, and of course no book remains from 1983. My spouse has verified current to the boiler as well as gas flow, and he believes the system is supposed to light the pilot and run automatically after turning the thermostat warmer. In theory, that sounds great. But, nothing is lighting or coming on. Before we call in an expensive repairman, is there anything he can try? He has done remodeling and carpentry for over 30 years, so is certainly intelligent enough to understand any technological advice.

Thank you in advance!

    An "expensive repairman"

is the best investment you could make.

Working with gas is not for do-it-yourselfers. If you don't know what you're doing the results can be tragic. A pro will be able to fix the problem and make sure the unit is safe.

    safety first

I cant agree more with the last post...Shut that boiler off and call a  licensed  and insured individual...A good one will most likely know what it is by your description to him over the phone...If hes a head scratchier send him away
