Any one have experience with taking apart a Richardson valve?  I have a few that are frozen, tried taking one apart, got as far as removing lever and graduated plate.

I would recommend getting a copy of its patent

so that you have an exploded view (hopefully) but if its like a Mouat valve, good luck trying to get it to come apart after all these years. It may be better to replace it with one of Mepco's orificed valves.

    Good advice

Good advice, actually already have 4 MEPCO's on order; one for valve in question and other for 3 add-on rads with traps.

    Thanks Gerry

    Richardson Valve

I've taken them apart with a deep socket impact wrench.  You must make sure the valve is open before you attempt to take the bonnet off, or you will ruin the valve (don't ask).

I've then lubed the threads with a wee bit of silicone grease and re-packed with "teflon" rope.
