No vent system

My nephew just closed on a house and ask me to check his boiler, well I don't see a vent set up, it looks like someone in the past used it as a possible take off, but when I tried to follow the take off It could not be found on the first floor either as a radiator or as a vent it looks like it's in between walls upstairs, space is minimal to work, right at the corner is a reducing tee 2x2x11/4, pipe goes down to almost floor level then runs to the boiler for about 30', Where do you guys suggest we can set up a new vent and yes near boiler piping is terrible

I hope pictures will be attached

    Venting

If it's too much trouble to cut into the main, I will sometimes add a tee righ after the elbow that drops into the return. A few feet of the smaller size pipe is easier to work with, and less expensive than dismantling the main.

    You can drill and tap

right into the 2" pipe. I never go above 1/2" on something as small as a 2" pipe, but with a low setting for the pressure and a good thread in the pipe you should be fine.
Cost is what you spend , value is what you get.

    Vent setting

Thanks, so I will drill & tap from the top about 15" away from the drip elbow and attached a gorton 2 (50' main length), am I on the right track?
