Clear Sealer on a Cast Iron Radiator?

I have some old, cast iron, one-pipe steam radiators and steam pipes that have been (mostly) cleaned of old paint. I love the old look and would like to leave them unpainted. Can I paint or spray them with a clear sealer? Any product suggestions and tips on how to do the job? Anything with a matte or low gloss? I've been told that XIM 900 might work, but don't know anyone that's used the product.

    I read their data sheet

They don't say anything about temperature after application, but they do say that it's only for interior use on iron and steel, so that would make me a little leery.

It might cost you an arm and part of a leg, but there are companies that do clear powder coating on wheels, and powder coating works well on cast iron. It is extremely durable and has virtually zero VOC. (See http://www.heatinghelp.com/article/322/Steam-Radiators/1585/How-to-Paint-an-Old-Radiator) A shop that does wheels would probably be set up to sandblast your radiators for you too, so you could get them totally clean before they get coated.
