    A BTU is a BTU

As long as you get a new boiler that has the same (or close) BTU rating as your old boiler it should work just fine. However you should have a pro do a EDR of your house to make sure your boiler is sized properly in the first place. Also having the boiler piped correctly is very important.

    With the proper new boiler

    it will work fine.

But if you have a recent model oil-fired unit, you may be able to install a conversion burner in it. What boiler do you have now?

MODEL # UTICA SFH4150S AND THE PRESSURE ON THE GAUGE IS NOT READING ANYTHING.

how old is the current boiler? Utica made that model for a few years now. It is also one of the less efficient models. It can be made more efficient by adjusting the fire rate to suit your system. I am not sure how efficient it would work out with a conversion burner as it has a high fire rating in a small boiler. Yours is rated 81% when new which is lower than even an atmospheric gas boiler. If you stayed with oil you could get up to 86% efficient. The answer is the system does not care what makes the steam , just that it is properly piped and sized for your system.
Cost is what you spend , value is what you get.
